Being the first time mom of a Bengal kitten, I started researching feline nutrition. That's when I stumbled across Meghan and her site The Nutrition Code! Between reading her postings and direct questions to her, I can tell a huge difference in my kittens health in just two weeks of this sites help! Even the veterinarian can see the difference! I would recommend The Nutrition Code to all pet owners who are having digestion issues with their pet or just want the absolute best for their babies!
My story. I brought my guy, Xerxes, home when he was 8 weeks old. He was the runt and had been fixed the day before, which I did not know till I picked him up. I thought I had to sign a contract to get it done at a later time. I got him home, he had diarrhea. Like stink you out of the House kind of diarrhea. I called the breeder she said he was fine that it was the car ride. I waited another day, he wasn't better. He went to the vet, she diagnosed him with stress colitis and sent off samples of his poo just in case. The next day he was weak and still had diarrhea after having certain meds, his dr wanted to see him right away. She admitted him. Iv fluids and meds for 2 days. He finally started feeling better because he wasn't dehydrated any more. He came home. Of course I babied him and did everything I could. The next day (Christmas eve) I noticed he was getting worse. Lifeless and a limp noodle. I called and Doc was right there. She admitted him for another 3 days. The breeder told me to meet her with medicine that would fix him.
I am desperate, I was losing my baby. Our Dr couldn't give him this med because he didn't have a diagnosis of tri tric yet till the labs came back but the breeder could. I gave the meds for 2 weeks. The baby got better but his bowels were so damaged the diarrhea continued.
At this point Xerxes was 3 months old and didn't quite weigh 2 pounds. I came in contact with Meghan Leah Waals by the grace of God. She recommended switching him [to raw]. I drove this poor girl nuts with all my questions and concerns. I made the switch with no transition. I remember chasing my fiancé with tears in my eyes and the pooper scooper in hand so excited that my baby had a firm poo! We have been on raw ever since and I can proudly say Xerxes now weighs 8.8 pounds (almost 7 months old now) and we have not had any diarrhea. He goes to the vet at least once a month to visit and she can't believe how well his structure and coat look.
